How to resize photos for Instagram in bulk

  1. Add your photos. Drop a folder from your camera or phone export.
  2. Use the Instagram preset. It sets 1080px on the longest side and keeps the crop you composed.
  3. Download and post. Grab the ZIP and upload straight to the app.

Instagram image sizes — frequently asked questions

What is the correct Instagram image size in 2026?

Square posts are 1080×1080, portrait posts 1080×1350, landscape posts 1080×566, stories and reels 1080×1920. Instagram downsizes anything larger, so exporting at 1080 keeps full quality at a much smaller file size.

Should I use JPG or PNG for Instagram?

JPG. Instagram converts uploads to JPG anyway, so a JPG export avoids a second round of compression and uploads much faster.

Will resizing crop my photo?

Not with the "Longest side" or "Fit inside" options — they keep the full frame and simply scale it down. Instagram will crop to its own aspect ratio when you post, which you can adjust in the app.

Can I resize hundreds of photos at once?

Yes. Batch resize a whole shoot, then pick the images you want to post.

Do you upload my photos to your servers?

No. Resizing happens in your browser, so your unpublished content stays private.
